Transfarm4.0: Empowering Farmers Through Precision Agriculture
The Transfarm4.0 project was dedicated to increasing farmers’ direct engagement in precision agriculture and strengthening the competitiveness of advanced European agri-tech value chains.
Driven by real-world demand, Transfarm4.0 explored innovative precision farming solutions tailored to the needs of agricultural stakeholders. The project brought together companies, clusters, research institutions, and farmers to co-develop and introduce cutting-edge technologies to the market.
Collaborative Innovation Across Borders
Thanks to the active involvement of all actors in the agricultural supply chain—including research centers, machinery manufacturers, farmers and their associations, chambers of commerce, and electronics-focused clusters—Transfarm 4.0 successfully developed three functional prototypes.
To ensure the solutions addressed real user needs, interviews were conducted across five participating regions: Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Poland, and Hungary. The feedback gathered informed the design of the prototypes, which prioritize:
- Ease of use
- Open-source accessibility
- Cost-effectiveness
The partnership succeeded in launching the prototypes and showcasing them at major European agricultural exhibitions, including EIMA, Fieragricola, and AGRA:
- Isobus application
- Remote and proximal sensing
- Big and smart Data Management.
